"Thalatta" is an ancient Greek word. Probably the only one I know.
It means "The Sea" and in a book called Anabasis, Xenophon describes being part of an army of Greek mercenaries forced to fight their way home from the center of the Persian empire.
Eventually the Greeks climbed a hill and from the top they could see the sea, and being seafaring people, knew they now stood a chance of finally making it home.
"Thalatta! Thalatta!" they yelled, to the delight of scholars everywhere.
